Valarian

Inhibits the breakdown of GABA in the brain resulting in feelings of tranquillity and calmness. It contains hesperidin and linarin which have a sedative action. It helps excessive activity in the fear centre of the brain and reduces strong stress reactions.

Peppermint

Peppermint has calming effects. It settles the stomach and eases any upset whilst travelling. It helps with nausea and anxiety.

Ginger

Ginger has long been used to help with motion sickness. The theory is that ginger ameliorates the nausea associated with motion sickness by preventing the development of gastric dysrhythmias and the elevation of plasma vasopressin. It may not be completely understood but it certainly works. Ginger is amazing to ease any stomach upset caused by travel and is also natural anti-inflammatory.
